Spring has sprung!

As cold as it can be in Chicago as we tip toe through April into May, the warm hearts of The Monocle Eclectic Dance Company are working outdoors and indoors to bring Chicago land something special and unique come September. We're sweeping up the monument on Kedzie Blvd. and Logan Blvd. every Sunday afternoon with rehearsals; the murmurs throughout our group are positive.

Artists in general share a genuine bond when beginning a new production or show. The dancers of our group continue to blend, mesh, and get to know one another as a family and a collective. Again, the vibe and atmosphere surrounding us is positive. Spring represents that rebirth, a beautifully enjoyed change of season this time of year for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. I can't help but draw comparison to the rebirth of the Earth come Spring, with the new beginning of The Monocle Eclectic. Here are some thoughts from your friendly neighborhood dance company...

Adrianne said, "There is something about grass growing, flowers blooming, and warmer weather. It screams new beginnings to me and I love a new beginning!" Although most of us share Adrianne's optimism and adore this transition to warmer weather, Dane and myself can't help but relish in the opening of the Chicago Cubs baseball season, and the hopeful success of the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup playoffs! Both Julie and Christina separately enjoyed a little beach time get-away celebrating with family and the sun at the opening of the Spring season.

It is fantastic to have the windows open at home, maybe also have the windows rolled down in the car on your commute, or even to leave the house without a jacket! Wherever you are, and whatever Spring means to you- I hope you're enjoying it.
